One Year old

Still can't believe my Little boy is one years old.  It is crazy to think he can do so much already. He started walking at 11 months and is almost running. Getting into the panties opening and closing doors. He is such a big boy.  One year ago my little man had open heart surgery. He has a caractation of his aorta.  That means his aorta was narrow.  He had 4 more things wrong like 2 holes and valve wasn't closing and another vein was narrow.  Fixing the aorta and giving him meds helped him out a little.  I will never forget the day we had to bring him to the emergency room. Carrying him like i thought he was going to die. They did tests on him and eco-grams they thought he had some other things wrong with him.  Days were long nights were worse. He had all these machines hooked up to him with all these tubes as well. The machines were beeping and scaring the crap out of us. Every time it went off we thought he was going dying or his heart stopped it was the scariest thing that ever happened. He was 6 days old and going thought so much. I couldn't hold my little man which killed me even more. It was a waiting game.. we had to wait to see when he was having surgery and what they were going to do. One week later they told us what was going on and he was supposed to have surgery. Finally we had an answer after all the days we waited in his room singing to him talking to him touching his hand and legs. 

The whole time i just wanted him to get better and kept it all in Gods hands. It seemed that i was stronger than my husband that i believed that Lukas was alright and that angels were watching over him. 

The day of the surgery was the worst day of my life i was so nervous. When they wheeled him to the surgical wing i almost balled when they took him away.  We were in the waiting room for 30 mins when they said they made the first cut.  An hour later i was in his new room and they were bringing him to me. He had a tube coming out of his side and out of his ding a ling.. Everyday he got better and better less med more milk. Then he was in recovery and i was able to hold him and feed him.. He was having a lot of trouble eating he would suck and chock. He forgotten how to suck completely.  That is why he had the feeding tube to help get the food that wasn't going down..down. He finally gained some weight and was off of everything a week later he came home. Lukas has a heart condition and it is getting better. His holes are getting smaller and he is on target with everything. He is a one year old that is for sure.  

LIke I said one year ago my little man had heart surgery and he has recovered. We pray that it heals for good and that the stiches keep and never tear.

My Baby boy is getting Older

Wow i can not believe my son is going to be 1 years old on Sat. I remember thinking a year ago that i wanted him out Now and could not take being prego anymore.  Now i think of all the things he can do and all the things i can teach him.  OH i love him so much. He is really a smart little boy. He does not know the word no but when i grab him and look him in the eyes he knows he is doing wrong.  I still cant believe he is going to be 1 he was a little baby and now he is a big baby. I will never forget those first 5 days we had him home.  Well first i will never forget being in the hospital and a tornado warning was going off.  It hit our area and the power was out for two or three days.  We couldn't even go home that Sunday we stayed with my dear friends the Gibsons. I will never forget going home home the next day and we had to get food because we had no power. I will also not forget Dani and Brian coming down to see Lukas... they were at her sister wedding that weekend. They went shopping and made us dinner.. it was really good and Very appreciated. I will never forget going to his first pediatrician appointment and the next day being rushed to the hospital. Lukas really has come so far. When he was admitted at 6 days old it was the hardest thing that ever happened to us. My sister came in that day to visit him for the first time and she couldn't even hold him because he had all these tubes in him.  Lukas went from being a healthy baby to almost dying because he had 6 things wrong with his heart and a possibly DeGeorge syndrome. Well 7 days later he was operated on and 7 days later he was let out of the hospital with a feeding tube in his mouth. He really has come a long way his heart repaired and he does not have DeGeorge syndrome.  God really has been working in Lukas and our lives.. i just wish my husband knew how important it is to keep God first. Well enough of that. Lukas is doing so good He has an appointment to check out his heart in July so we will see if the holes and if their isnt any tearing where they did the surgery.  Again my little boy is getting Older and i cant wait till he can understand what he has been through and what an amazing boy he really is

my other passion

I have another passion in life and it is children.  Well babies really. i love watching them grow and learn.  Lukas is almost 1 year old and i am loving every minute of his growth.  I love teaching him and helping him to grow.  Babies learn at a young age even when they are in your belly.  When i was pregnant i played music to him almost every day when he was a few months old in my tummy.  I started to read to him when he was 3 months and now he loves books. He hands me books all day long.  Children are little sponges and it starts when they are babies.  They learn that they can control their parents at around 9 months.  So if you let them get away with stuff at 9 months then you will be in trouble. They are very smart and it is sad to think that some people think they do not know much before they are 5.  I feel sorry for who ever thinks that children and babies are so intelligent. They remember things and thrive on structure and routine. Well that is just some of what i think.  Just remember you babies brain is going every second of the day absorbing everything.
